Vauxhall Meriva Tigra and Corsa
It has been brought to my attention by one of our customers that the camshaft cap retaining bolts are coming loose on Vauxhall Meriva, Tigra and Corsa Models with the 1.2s and 1.4s Engines.
It was reported in the Telegraph that there has been many instances of this, the retaining bolts should be re-torqued at each major service.
We have had personal experience of this when last year a customers car was brought in with a misfire and we found the inlet camshaft cap retaining bolts to be loose and the camshaft had snapped.
The cost of re-torquing the bolts is about an hours labour plus a rocker cover gasket.
The cost of a snapped camshaft will be considerably more.
